Cyrillic Supplement

U+0500 – U+052F   (1280–1327)

The Cyrillic Supplement range was introduced with version 3.2 of the Unicode Standard, and is located in Plane 0, the Basic Multilingual Plane. It provides additional characters for use with those in the existing Cyrillic range.

The characters in this range are for use in Komi, a language used in the Komi Republic, once part of the USSR and now part of Russia.

The characters that appear in the “Character” columns of the following table depend on the browser that you are using, the fonts installed on your computer, and the browser options you have chosen that determine the fonts used to display particular character sets, encodings or languages.

You can find some or all of the characters in this range in the Windows Unicode fonts Arev Sans, Arial, Charis SIL, Code2000, Courier New, DejaVu Sans, DejaVu Sans Condensed, DejaVu Serif, DejaVu Serif Condensed, Doulos SIL, EversonMono, Fixedsys Excelsior, Free Idg Serif, Free Sans, Free Serif, Hindsight Unicode, Kliment Std, Lucida Grande, Microsoft Sans Serif, Quivira, RomanCyrillic Std, Roman Unicode, Segoe UI, sixpack, Sun-ExtA, Symbola, Tahoma, Times New Roman and TITUS Cyberbit Basic; and in the Macintosh OS X Unicode font Lucida Grande.

To see exactly which characters are included in a particular font, you can use a utility such as Andrew West’s BabelMap, Apple’s TrueEdit, or WunderMoosen’s FontChecker.

If you are not familiar with the characters, you can check the characters displayed here with the graphical display at http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0500.pdf.
